1. Brief history of SGPB:

State Geological Programming Board (SGPB) is the pivotal Board of the department, its participating members, besides the department officers, are represented by scientists/technocrats/officers from all related Central / State / Private organizations, such as GSI, CGWB, ONGC Ltd., IBM, MECL, CMPDIL, NGRI, AMD, NEC, NEIST, BRO, etc. and state PHED, Sc. & Tech., NU, Power Deptt., I & C, I & FC, UD, NSMDC Ltd. etc., where related issues pertaining to the Departmental activities are deliberated by reviewing the past activities and making new proposals for the ensuing field season.

The meeting of the Board is conducted once annually under the Chairmanship of the Secretary In-charge of the department during  July-August, keeping in view of the reports of the ongoing field works of the department  to be  incorporated in the agenda paper of the Central Geological Programming  Board (CGPB) Meeting  held in the month  of August every year.

The Department has conducted its 35^th session of the board meeting on the 7^th August 2015.
